She smiled as he spoke about his favorite music. It always brightened her mood to see people talking openly about the things they were passionate about. She was able to follow pretty easily; he wasn’t exactly getting technical, and she did have a bit of music in her background (it wasn’t quite the most pleasant experience, but she still retained some of what she learned).
“Don’t apologize for being passionate, it’s a good thing! And I get it. Piano is a beautiful instrument, isn’t it? I was never very good at it, though.”
She gave a light laugh, shooing away the darker side of the memories that threatened to surface. It wasn’t that bad of a time. At his introduction, she smiled and nodded, holding her hand out to him.
"I’m Solana. It’s nice to meet you, Kaito.”
He smiles cheerfully as she introduces herself. It’s an unusual name, but people will name their children anything. He’s heard names like Lyric and Skye. Once, a fan came up to him with her newly born daughter and introduced her as Cantarella, as if he were supposed to be happy that she named her child after a song about … Well. He had been polite enough, but had secretly felt sorry for the kid.

He has a polite curiousity about the girl, who can’t be older than Miku. Her tone seems interesting, friendly but with a note of steely seriousness. Not in a cold way, but it’s certainly there. Perhaps it’s just because she does, technically, appear to be on duty. He wonders exactly what such a job entails.

❄~ “So, how did you wind up in this job, anyways? You seem pretty young for it … Then again, I guess I don’t know the usual age for a ranger.”
