⊰☼⊱ ; She rolls her eyes. Generic statements. The opposite of what she feels like hearing. Breath expelled in an exhausted and displeased sigh, she sits upright with back flat against the bench.
” Yeah. Could happen to anyone — and it happened to me. “ Bitterness flowing from the tip of her tongue, words laced with pessimism. Maybe she’s got every right in the world to be pessimistic now, though. But it would be better to not drag him down with her, if that’s the case.Hesitantly, she stands, dipping under the umbrella by his side. Head rush from rising too quickly, for a split second she’s dizzy and wobbles to the right before arms extend to regain her balance. Two quick blinks and a re-adjustment to her surroundings, she looks up at him with a frown. Enticing. Azure hair fades to midnight and sapphire when water clings to each strand and drips from the tip of his nose, the edges of his jaw. She looks a wreck when soaked, and he is the opposite. It isn’t fair.
” … your apartment is probably a lot closer than mine, at this point. And if there isn’t a bus coming then I don’t .. really have a choice. “ A glance behind them. No cars, no faint yellow headlights blurred behind the thick curtain of rain shower misting across pavement that steams from hot summer. It’s just the two of them out here. Envious of the idea of being inside warmth and dry clothing and something to eat, she nods her head, cautiously. ” But — .. I don’t .. I don’t have any clothes at your place. I won’t have anything to wear, and I don’t want to stay soaked for hours." Leading her to second guess her decision and wonder if instead she should return home, after all. Bittersweet — she’d admittedly rather stay with him.

It is with that, that her train of thought is shattered and washed away into the sewer grate by her feet when there is a sudden and silent flickering of blinding light cast across dusky, dark skies. No thunder to follow suit, but eyes widen and the color in her face flushes away. Pale as a ghost, now.
She straightens herself like a board and presses two palms into his back, shoving him to start moving.
” But we … aah — can figure that out later, haha ..! “
He remains silent at the pessimism that drips like acid from her tongue, hoping facial expression is enough to convey his emotions. He can’t tell her that it’s not a big deal to her; the way she feels is not something he can control. But it doesn’t matter to him, so she doesn’t have to worry about being embarrassed in front of him, at least. It looks like she’s set on it, though.
She muses on whether or not they should go back to his apartment, and he has to admit that she has a point. He has no clothes that he can offer her, not really. A large shirt would do in a pinch, but past that he can’t really offer her anything. He doesn’t even have a robe or anything of the sort. If it came to it, he could give her a towel to wrap around herself.
❄~ "Well, maybe –”
But then she’s pushing him along and there’s an edge to her voice and Kaito, oblivious to the cause of her distress, can only stumble to keep up with the pace she sets. As he gets used to the stride she urges with palms pressed against his soaked back, he frowns, turning to her with confusion.

❄~ “Miku, what’s wrong?”
Because there’s obviously something wrong; it’s scrawled across her face in bold print and sharp as broken glass in her voice. He’s not even sure if he expects her to tell him, honestly, and he doesn’t think that pestering her would be a good idea, but he feels the need to ask, all the same. There’s simply nothing else to be done.
