Soon, Yohi noticed the other male chuckling along with him, perhaps amused by the slight awkwardness they had before the statement, he wasn’t quite sure though.. It made him feel relieved though, he didn’t really want to make anyone feel awkward because of how tall he was.
❄~ “Yes … Yes, it is! Sorry if it was sudden; I was just taken by surprise.”
The tall males head tilted to the side, perhaps it was usual for someone not to expect someone tall here, they were a bit.. Short, anyways. Someone where he was from might be surprised by their heights as well.
As if he was extremely interested in the males actions, Hio watched him glance down to the book he was holding upon hearing the question, nodding with ease shortly after.
“I do! I am quite good at speaking it, better than I am your language." He replied smoothly in English, offering a childish, yet somewhat proud, smile towards the male.
The sudden response in English threw Kaito off for a moment, although it might have been expected. He smiled, wondering at the ease with which the man spoke. And, yet, was English his native language? It didn’t sound like a native accent, but there were so many different dialects that Kaito couldn’t really keep up on all of them.
He responded in English, his own words slightly accented. His accent was something he struggled to get rid of, for the purpose of performing, but it was impossible to completely do away with, mostly hiding behind his ells and errs.
❄~ "Ah! I will consider myself to be fluent. Is it the language that you speak first?”
He knew that his own sentence structure was a bit off, but he was out of practice. It was the main reason for him buying the book, really. He had made a habit of reading in English at least weekly, but the same tired words of caged birds and fearful trills or forests dark and deep and promises to keep got old. Was it really learning if he could recite the words from memory? He didn’t really think so.
And, so, he felt it was best to offer some sort of apology, when he knew he could be difficult to understand. He would have no problem with the other male asking for him to repeat himself, perhaps in Japanese. Then again, would that really be easier for the other? Kaito was more fluent in it, but this man was not. It seemed as though there was no easy answer!

❄~ “Sorry if my words are difficult to be understood. English … I haven’t been speaking it for awhile!”
